The Endbringer's Thoughts | Royal Rumble is a Royal Ripoff!!! |
Issue 14: Royal Rumble is a Royal Ripoff!!!
Hey all! After watching the Royal Rumble last night, I found myself hugely disappointed. Didn't you??? Let's go through the very few ups and the very plentiful downs of a pretty mediocre PPV.
Good Thing: Austin didn't win the Rumble. The last thing the WWF needs for credibility is to have the same guy win the Rumble three years straight. But McMahon??? Head-scratcher....
Bad Thing: The first three matches. What the hell was Roaddog vs. Bossman, non-title, non-Hardcore supposed to do? Waste a lot of time? Roaddog didn't even win! And why did Shamrock win??? That was pathetic. I was hoping Gangrel would win the match, but X-Pac retained a seldom-defended, undeserved title.
Good Thing: Great performances from Mankind and The Rock. The match was actually pretty good. I don't agree with the ending, but it does add some twists.
Bad Thing: Everybody knew what would happen at the Rumble, so the WWF seemed to switch everything around at the last second, and it backfired big-time. I admit it was predictable, but it was a good predictable! Some title chages other than Mankind's loss would've been nice.
Good Thing: Good performance by young talent. Edge, Test, D-Lo, Droz, and others.
Bad Thing: MABLE???? First of all, it was fairly dumb to him to be in the main event on Heat, and secondly to go from a corporate goon to a sacrifice for the Undertaker. C'mon folks.
Bad Thing: They're gonna really have to redeem themselves tonight, and if Mankind or anyone wins a rematch, that makes the Rumble a huge waste.
Hopefully things will all be straightened out tonight. As of right now, I'm a little peeved.
Rest in Peace,
The Endbringer
